This year's CAR Conference will take place March 11-14 in Phoenix, Ariz. We would like to make you aware of some changes with this year’s conference.

The sessions on Thursday, March 11 will be held at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix located at 340 North 3rd St. A special track of Census sessions will be held at The Arizona Republic building located next door to the Sheraton. Please pick up your registration materials prior to attending the Census sessions. Conference registration will be located on the 2nd floor of the Sheraton outside of the Ahwatukee Room.

Beginning Friday, March 12, the remainder of the conference will be held at Arizona State University in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication (555 N. Central Ave). The school is just a short walk from the hotel. Conference registration will be located on the 2nd floor of ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

• Go out the main doors of the Sheraton and turn left
• Turn left on Taylor
• Walk 3 blocks on Taylor
• You will see the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication on your right
• Walk through the long courtyard and enter the school at the doors facing University Center/Central Avenue.
• Sessions are taking place on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building.

Public parking is available at both the Sheraton and ASU. Rates for parking are below.

Sheraton – parking

Only credit cards are accepted for payment – there is no parking attendant.

• Self parking overnight – $16.00
• Self parking 0-3 hours – $8.00
• Self parking 3-6 hours – $12.00

ASU – parking

There is a visitor parking lot located on the north side of the building, parking is $3 an hour with a maximum of $12 per day. There is also a City of Phoenix parking lot just across the street (on the north side of Fillmore) that is a $5 flat rate for the whole day. Both lots only accept cash payments.
