Apply by Sept. 27, 2010 for a full scholarship to attend a three-day campus investigative reporting workshop and participate in a year-long program that offers ongoing training and opportunities to learn from top reporters from throughout the country.
Participants head to Phoenix in January for three days of panels, workshops, story brainstorming sessions and hands-on computer-assisted reporting classes. You’ll leave armed with the tools to provide better, more in-depth coverage of your campus and investigative skills that will last a lifetime.
Space is limited to 75. All attendees will receive scholarships that cover travel and lodging plus a stipend for meals.
Program guidelines:
- You must have experience reporting for a campus-related news outlet, but being a journalism major is not a prerequisite.
- Only students with at least one year of coursework remaining are eligible.
- Students participating in the program will be expected to produce stories based on the training they receive at the workshop.
Application requirements:
- Complete the following form.
- Include a statement explaining why you are applying for the program and what you believe the benefits would be for you. (Maximum 350 words)
- Include three work samples. (electronic or hard copy)
- Include the name and contact information for (2) references.
- Please be sure your name appears on all attached documents or hard copies.
